Summer tutoring is open โ€” keep your math and science sharp this July and August

Hey Reader,

Summer is a great time to keep up with math and science.

Without regular practice, a lot of what students learned over the year can slip by September.

We're running tutoring sessions all summer for high school students in:

๐Ÿงฎ  Math
๐Ÿ’ก  Physics
โš—๏ธ  Chemistry
๐Ÿงฌ  Biology

Both in-person here in Victoria and online, so it works no matter where you're spending the summer.

Summer Offer

This summer we have a prepaid 8-session package where you save $40. It's a good option if you want consistent sessions over the break without having to book one at a time.

Each session is one-on-one. We work through the specific topics your student needs help with, practice problems together, and they leave with a copy of the notes from the session.

If you want to find out more, book a quick call with me and we'll go from there.

Thanks,

Matt

Hey Reader, For students in UVic or Camosun summer courses, midterms are coming up fast. These are a few things that tend to make a real difference in the week or two beforehand. Work through past exams. Most professors post them. Do the questions with your notes closed, mark yourself honestly, then figure out what you got wrong and why. Stop highlighting. It feels productive and isn't. If you can't explain a concept in your own words without looking at your notes, you don't know it yet. Wear...

A person sitting on a bench in front of the University of Victoria

Hey Reader, PHYS 110 and 111 are among the most failed courses at UVic. A lot of first-year students go in thinking it will be similar to high school physics. It isn't. The course moves fast, the content gets locked week by week, and the tests are entirely multiple-choice. That last part trips up a lot of people because multiple-choice physics requires a different kind of preparation than most students expect. The resources provided in these courses are actually not bad. There are lots of...

I'm super grateful to have found some really solid tutors who I can trust to help our students. Engineering Tutor Co-op Mia Terry Iโ€™m currently a second-year engineering student at the University of Victoria. I began my studies in general science before transferring into engineering. Outside of school, I enjoy golfing, skiing, and surfing, as well as baking and painting. Fun fact: Iโ€™ve...
