Why We're Running at 4am

Hey Reader,

Those who know me know I've been getting into running lately.

I ran the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon last weekend!

I'm getting ready for another run, except this time its for a good cause.

The Wings for Life World Run is a charity run taking place all over the world this weekend!

May 10th at 4:00am PDT (yes, you read that correct)

It is an early start, but the vibes will be high!

100% of all entry fees and donations go directly to research and help find a cure for spinal cord injury.

I'm running at the Wings For Life Victoria location.

You can sign up here if anyone wants to join:

If you know someone who might be interested, feel free to forward this to them!

Thanks,

Matt Heywood

Hey Reader, For students in UVic or Camosun summer courses, midterms are coming up fast. These are a few things that tend to make a real difference in the week or two beforehand. Work through past exams. Most professors post them. Do the questions with your notes closed, mark yourself honestly, then figure out what you got wrong and why. Stop highlighting. It feels productive and isn't. If you can't explain a concept in your own words without looking at your notes, you don't know it yet. Wear...

Hey Reader, PHYS 110 and 111 are among the most failed courses at UVic. A lot of first-year students go in thinking it will be similar to high school physics. It isn't. The course moves fast, the content gets locked week by week, and the tests are entirely multiple-choice. That last part trips up a lot of people because multiple-choice physics requires a different kind of preparation than most students expect. The resources provided in these courses are actually not bad. There are lots of...
